I know this is probably a pipe dream finding a competent bass player, but if you are out there, I'd love to work together. Basically I create a wide variety of music projects of any genre. Things tend to be experimental. But I'm not looking for bass owners, I'm looking for hardcore musicians who play the bass. This is what I'm looking for: 1) You practice, on your own, a lot, hours a day every day if possible. If you don't practice, as an individual, and have been for years, don't respond to this ad. 2) You are music literate: You know how to read and write music, can sightread music, as you are a bass player you know and use the bass clef, and know music theory (scales & chords, etc.). You have practiced things in all 12 keys. Things like rolling dice to generate pitches for use in composition and improvisation interest you. 3) Your love of genre knows no bounds. You are at home in any musical style and have a love for all types of music. For example, if you hate rap OR classical music, please don't respond (If you have an acoustic upright and an electric that would be fantastic.) 4) I hand you chord changes and you can play a bass line over them to accompany other music and/or sounds AND you'd be able to take an improvised solo as well. 5) You're easy to work with, have interests beyond music, are humble, sane and hold no delusions of grandeur about "making it" or some such myth. 6) You know their ain't no money in this - and if there ever is, its not likely to cover more than beer and/or transportation costs. Perhaps you're a college music student or recent graduate? Or you've been living in a hole doing nothing but refining your craft and you stumbled on this ad?
