We want "low" maintenance personalities in our group. We are a fun bunch and don't want the drama. We are VERY kid friendly but if there are lots of restraints in your schedule due to work or child care issues, this won't be the group for you.
We meet every Thursday night from 6-9. We have our own equipment and you would need to have an equivalent to a shure 58 mic, cord and round bottom stand in order to be in the group. IF you have a cordless equivalent to a Shure, a few of us in the group do as well and that is fine! You have to be able to read music but we don't expect you to be an expert in this. We have a great repertoire of music to include: rock, folk, do-wop, contemporary, a little country, world music and a little Broadway music as well.

The story is about a mentally ill man recovering from an attempted suicide after a falling out with his wife. Through love, he wrestles with his inner demons to break back into reality and reconnect with his concerned wife.
The filming will be in the middle of March.

The music will be very complex, and will require professional level playing abilities and individual practice. Since we are counting on professional level playing, we'll only get together to practice 1-2X/month.
We have a recording studio/practice space that's usable 24/7 with a bass and guitar amp for practicing.
This is NOT a garage/jam band. To the contrary, practices will have a very focused agenda. With that philosophy in mind, we've selected 2 covers for our first "rehearsal".
We ask that you prepare these, and then give us one to work on. This will focus our rehearsal and see if we're a good fit for each other. We can send you mp3's if you can't find them:

- "Everglades" by Vital Tech Tones...this is Wooten, Hendersen and Smith. To save you some time...the header base line is a 2 bar phrase in 6/8-7/8. You could count it in 13/8 if you want, but it is not truly 13 count phrasing.
