I've been writing songs since 2008 and have over 500 voice files containing song ideas. I record the ideas as I go, and when something sounds catchy, I finish it. My problem comes in where my left hand was badly injured in the Joplin Tornado leaving me unable to play guitar. I have tried numerous times to start a band or something of the like, but it seems people are too busy... I need someone who has the time to devote to working on music. I need someone with a talent for picking up a tune or just simply pulling something wonderful right out of their ass that will compliment what is already there.
I do not do punk, I do not do death metal, I do not do emo whiny crap, I do not do the watered down tripe known as newer country music, and I sure as hell do not do christian music. I write songs to tell a story, to represent an emotion, I try my best to write songs as they were once written... with meaning. In a wonderful moment of boredom I messaged one of my favorite musicians to tell her what an inspiration she has been to me throughout my experience and sent her some songs I had worked on... she responded shortly after and said I had definitely something and to keep going.
Please if you are serious about starting something up, I have potentially decent song material, and a potentially decent voice. I will be more than happy to send whoever responds the files I've worked on. This is something I cannot let go, and that I will never let go... I beg anyone out there to help. -- Project Type: 1

Motley, Poison, Cinderella, Warrant, Ratt, Guns, Winger, Van Hagar etc etc. Been playing drums in 50's and 60's band for 10 years. Need to get back to the 80's. I have a full stage complete with PA, monitors, lazers, lights, strobes at my house for rehearsal. I have been working on doing some singing so can fill in. Looking for guys or gals who love hair metal and have been playing in the basement and wanting to do the real thing. I am a business owner and family guy so I have no desire to shoot for anything. I want to play the songs I grew up with and build us all together. We can choose to play out if we think we should but no pressure. If some of you have been playing out and are ready to slow down then this could be good too. Could use somebody with a good ear, remember I am a drummer ( a guy who hangs out with musicians). Looking for low key folks who can just explode on stage. At this age its just fantasy so lets live it up. I have a bass rig, a small guitar amp and keys that we can use. These are also mic'ed so noise is not an issue. I went to rock camp a few years back and played with Kip Winger (amazing guy) and played a set at the Whiskey on the strip so I have got the bug. We need keys whatever as long as you like the above mentioned music. I am not opposed to costumes too. We had an 80's hair metal party with full dress and it was awesome. No drugs or losers (you know who you are). I have kids, dogs, wife etc so Dad by day and pretend hair metal rock god at night or at least a few times a month. Hope there are others out there like me. email back and give me your story and number. My plan is to hopefully hear from some folks that seem like a fit and have a jam session and see what happens. A little about us, I'm Seth I am 25y/o and Scott is 27y/o we can play very very good and we have pro gear and you should too. We dont have EGO'S and we don't do DRUGS and you shouldn't either!!!! My guitar influences are Dimebag Darrell, Tom Morrello, Slash, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Michael Angelo Baito.

A keyboard player or another guitar would really add, as well. We do have an electronic keyboard for the right person to use. Other instrumentalists are welcome to visit with us. We currently have one guitar player that switches between acoustic and electric, but primarily plays rhythm and harmonica, a bass player, and two to three vocalists. We will play nursing homes, where we would play strictly hymns. As the year progresses there will no doubt be venues to play our more favorite contemporary selections. We are limiting ourselves to only one or two gigs a month, depending on wherever else God takes us. Practices would mostly be one night per week. You must have a real relationship with Christ, but you needn't be perfect; but still striving to let God draw you deeper into His love. We want to be fair and bring in some of your cover and original songs but dont want to waiste time learning someone elses favorites and then they go get a night job and cant continue, or have to move back to what ever state they are from.
What we have to offer: We currently have a set list consisting of about 30 covers and 10 originals (godsmack, seether, disturbed, creed, nickleback, rage against machine, black stone cherry, etc) Wanting to do the future bass players favorites after they have learned ours. We (lead vocalist, drummer and guitarist) have been together for 4 years playing in Branson, Springfield, Joplin, Eureka and in between. we are not opposed to venturing further like fayetteville, tulsa, etc. We have a sweet rehersal space (1500 sq ft brand new dedicated band room).We have very nice equipment other than lacking subs at the moment. having been together for 4 years we get along very well and are in this for the long haul. And as you should know if you are an experianced musician the hardest thing to making a band successful is keeping it together, we have that. We would like to take it to the next level but have never had that final piece of the puzzle (a good bassist). We also have a dedicated sound man at every gig and practice. We wil work around your scheduel but getting 4 people together on a regular basis does take everyone giving a little and showing up regularly not just when convieniant. We are cool and like a beer and a smoke now and then but dont want an alcoholic or drug addict.

01-29-12 - Kansas City, MO>Kansas City, KS - We are a forming cover band (currently drums, keys and lead guitar) that is made up of members from two previously well known bands around town.
We have a lot of years between us playing out and about in KC and are putting together a new project that we think will set us apart from the typical cover band fare...
A slightly specialized songlist, but still wide open to multiple decades and genres (as opposed to a tribute band that is tied to one artist, or strictly an "80's" or "90's" band, etc).
We have pro equipment, and a full time sound man on board as well. Our plan is to put something together that is on par (in both performance and income) with what bands such as The Zeros are doing (great band and great guys). Full light show, great sound, great tunes.
What we're looking for is a bass or rhythm guitar player that can also fill the role of the front person that can get the crowd involved, has great stage presence, a good sense of humor, and doesn't take themselves too seriously (we are very easy going). Must have strong lead vocal AND harmony abilities. You won't be the only lead vocal so no worries about killing your voice. You'll probably end up being responsible for around 40% of the lead vocal duties. Harmony is a must though.
If we find the right bass player we may stop there and keep this a 4 piece situation, but we're not opposed to going five piece for the right people so a second guitar player could work too.
