I am trying to put together an amazing birthday party/ halloween party / music festival for my friend. I am looking for bands that would like to play. And groupies. I am looking mostly for bluegrass, jazz, jam, light rock, punk rock(no hate rock), acoustic anything and everything, hand drums, harmonica, fiddle, milk jug etc.
October 23 (possibly 2 days) I would like to host a non profit jam session on my land near lone jack MO. Bands can be paid fairly for their time, people who commit to help can be paid in food and free entry, however, groupies will not be paid. I have a feeling some bands would want to play for the exposure and the fun of a camping music festival.
I have room for up to 1000 campers, two stages, and lots of bonfires. Tickets will cost 5, 10 no more than 20 dollars depending on how many bands, nights and people who want to come. I have power to run lights, and speakers but have no lights or speakers...can probably find some. Accepting offers.

We play sax/bass/drums jazz/rock/funk that is typically described as "jazz" by people who don't listen to jazz and is almost never referred to as jazz by people who do. We would like to play instrumental (no words) music that is interesting and (possibly) danceable. Reading isn't a necessity but would make everyone's life easier. Being a good person who isn't a pain to work with IS a necessity, I book with the understanding that there will be NO drama from our group, if you've ever thrown something at a wall, this probably isn't your gig. We're pretty interested in staying a trio and playing KC/STL/SGF with any other good gigs in between or nearby (COMO, Joplin, etc) but did hit Chicago and western Montana this summer. We don't make a fortune but we don't loose money to play gigs. Currently no gigs booked due to lack of bass player... but we've played 40 gigs since December held down full time jobs and I've even stayed married. Hear samples at website below but realize we recorded those in 35 minutes before we had played a single gig. Actual shows tend to be jammier, funkier and more hippy-friendly. I'm happy to send you an EPK that gives you insight into our stats, etc. You can still play with your death metal band, I just need to know your schedule and that when I book you, you'll show up on time with your gear.
Drummer is in STL, Sax in KC, our former bass players was in Springfield. We are open to any location and will try to book as close as possible (we try to rotate around the state so the driving is pretty even).
