Melrose Youth Ballet is a non-profit organization that gives young dancers between the ages of 7 and 18 the chance to perform in a full-scale ballet production. We are currently seeking male dancers to perform in this season's production of “The Nutcracker”. Eligible roles include but are not limited to, Nutcracker Prince, Russian Cossack, Soldier Doll (Party Scene), Spanish Male Lead (Partnering role) and Drosselmeyer.
Please be aware that this position is unpaid. However, dancers currently attending high school will receive community service credit for all hours of rehearsal & performance combined, as well as performance credits if approved by your school.
Rehearsals begin on Saturday October 2, 2010 and take place in Melrose, Saturday afternooon rehearsals will likely be 1 – 2 hours long for the first 8 weeks. The final two weeks of rehearsal are longer for full show run-throughs. November 30 – December 5 include mandatory “Technical” and “Dress Rehearsals”. There are 5 perfomances; dates as follows:
Friday 12/3: 10am & 8pm
Saturday 12/4: 2pm & 8pm
Sunday 12/5: 8pm
Performances are all held at Memorial Hall in Melrose. Typical audience ranges from 300 – 600 per show. Artistic and Assistant Directors are good-natured and friendly people who are willing to be flexible with your availability. MYB is in its 16th season, and has a well-established reputation in our community. This would be a wonderful opportunity to gain experience for your resume as a young dancer and bond with a cast of more than 130 dancers from several communities in the Greater Boston area.
Melrose is best accessed by car, but also accessible by public transportation by taking the Orange Line to the "Oak Grove" stop. Somebody on the staff of the ballet would be available to take you from the T-station to the rehearsal space in downtown Melrose.

The LRBB performs at various venues and private functions though out the year providing big band sounds for listening and ball room dancing.
The LRBB is currently looking for a Drummer to join the band. The qualifications for this position are;
1. Either Formal music education or extended private study.
2. Ability to read music or charts for your instrument.
3. Some Knowledge, experience and ability to play various jazz styles and rhythms.
Rehearsals are at the Franklin Opera House in downtown Franklin, NH on Scheduled Sunday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. The drummer is required to provide their own instrument (full set not necessary for rehearsals) and a music stand, except for scheduled auditions. Auditions are conducted as a sit-in basis with the band and are scheduled on rehearsal nights.
Rehearsals are non-paid. Compensation for gigs is commensurate to the playing contract for the band.

Band needed for show September 30th - Th - 800689
08-17-10 - Boston, MA>Portland, ME - I'm in a touring band that is looking for TWO bands to play with us at a St. Catharines show on September 30th (Thursday) at The Mansion House.
The venue is booked, and its a prime night for a rock show there. We need two rock bands for the opening and second slot. Variations of music genres are acceptable, all you need to do is reply with a myspace or website with a music sample for consideration. Set times are 45 minutes. Payment is going to be an even 3-way split of the cover charge which is $5.
We're looking for bands that are local to St. Kitts and surrounding area. Any bands that contain students are MORE than welcome, in fact it's encouraged. The two bands will need to take a bigger role in promotion for the show based on location, but show details, times and all the graphic design/poster work will be done for you.
First come first serve, spread the word, I'll take suggestions for bands to check out as well.
