Pop-Rock Band Needing A Drummer-DC - 812521
09-03-10 - Washington, DC>Baltimore, MD - We are currently seeking a full time drummer and bandmate.
We have been together for almost a year, and in that time, have played at such venues as The Red & The Black and The Rock & Roll Hotel with great success. We would like to continue to gig full-time, record and tour and are looking for someone with the commitment and flexibility to do so. You should be laid back, yet professional. Have solid timing and keep a wide pocket. The ability to play in odd-time signatures is a must, as well as the ability to lock in with samples/loops and create interesting polyrhythms (we recently met up with someone to play samples and such). Our music ranges from trip-hop, jazz, industrial, dub, and more, so you should have a wide range of influences and be able to dial them in. Please be open-minded and 420 friendly.
Our influences are as varied and include: Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, Arcade Fire, Zero-7, Portishead, Bjork, Eryka Badu, U2, Beck, Pink Floyd, Stereolab. We have rehearsals on Monday and Wednesday evenings at our practice space in Columbia Heights. We have a full drum kit (one of the housemates) and a PA.
Please keep in mind that we are still developing our sound (our newer songs sound totally different), but we truly believe that we have something special going on. We hope you agree and would like to be a part of it.
