07-31-10 - Charleston, SC>Columbia, SC - Hi, we are a band of three as of right now. A guitarist, bassist, and a drummer. The ages range from 17-21. We are currently looking for a singer that likes rock and hard rock type music. This includes bands such as Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Tool, Breaking Benjamin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alien Ant Farm, and etc. Most of which we have already covered and done shows for. We expect to be gigging soon but the only drawback is that we do not have a singer to sing for us. We seek somone, preferrably male, that knows how to sing by ear, meaning you know how to sing in key. Age isn't really a factor as long as you aren't 20 years ahead of our age group. For now we are doing covers so as to build a fan base and earn some extra bucks, but we do write music and would like to pursue gigging with originals as well. We are all experienced and play by ear. All of us with at least 4 years experience behind us. So this isn't your little jam with your friends in your garage. We take this seriously and hope to maybe pursue a career in it. If you have a fixed schedule, we can work around it. We dislike singers who end up not being able to work with us because they are busy. That has constanly happened to us and it is getting very VERY old. If you cannnot committ, then don't reply, if you think that you can't commit, then don't reply. We can only take a 100% yes that you can committ because we have already been screwed over plenty times by this type of scenario. The Last Night of Ballyhoo - Greenville - 787094
07-30-10 - Charlotte, NC>Columbia, SC - THE STORY: THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO takes place in Atlanta, Georgia, in December of 1939. Gone with the Wind is having its world premiere, and Hitler is invading Poland, but Atlanta's elitist German Jews are much more concerned with who is going to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season. Especially concerned is the Freitag family: bachelor Adolph, his widowed sister, Beulah (Boo) Levy, and their also widowed sister-in-law, Reba. Boo is determined to have her dreamy, unpopular daughter, Lala, attend Ballyhoo, believing it will be Lala's last chance to find a socially acceptable husband. Adolph brings his new assistant, Joe Farkas, home for dinner. Joe is Brooklyn born and bred, and furthermore is of Eastern European heritage-several social rungs below the Freitags, in Beulah's opinion. Lala, however, is charmed by Joe and she hints broadly about being taken to Ballyhoo, but he turns her down. This enrages Boo, and matters get worse when Joe falls for Lala's cousin, Reba's daughter, Sunny, home from Wellesley for Christmas vacation. Will Boo succeed in snaring Peachy Weil, a member of one of the finest Jewish families in the South? Will Sunny and Joe avoid the land mines of prejudice that stand in their way?
