We're hoping to have lots of fun at our auditions, so we'll be asking you to come dressed as your favorite character, and be prepared to share a special talent of your choice. You'll read, sing, and participate in movement activities as well. Auditions: We plan to do things a little differently for these auditions, so even if you've auditioned in Stowe many times in the past, please review this information carefully. We want to give you the opportunity to put your best foot forward in the audition process. For the auditions, we will expect you to come prepared. Attire: Please come dressed as the character you want to audition for. We may not choose you for that character, but we want to see how you'd look as a middle schooler (or teacher or parolee). Music: We will ask you to sing a number from the show, so please pick one character?s song as posted on site, and come prepared to sing it. We would also ask that you come prepared to sing something else of your choice that showcases you at your vocal best. Please bring a CD accompaniment or be prepared to sing it acapela. Movement/Dance: We will also have some sort of movement piece that we?ll teach. Readings: Readings will be posted on the website and we'll expect that you come prepared to perform them ? there will be readers at auditions to perform opposite you. Other: And bring your special talents ? baton twirling, yo yo, harmonica, gymnastics, completing a Rubix Cube?..if you can do it, we want to see it. There is so much opportunity in this show to use those special gifts.so bring it! We want to see you embody your character, so spend some time with the music and readings and really get a handle on who you think the person is. Casting: We will be looking for very strong singers - every single performer in the production must be a strong singer, capable of carrying both solo numbers and strong harmonies. We will be looking for people who look believable as a group, and we?ll be looking for great attitudes We will contact everyone after casting to let you know and we will respect your preference for how you like to receive the information. Please remember there are only nine roles in the show so it will be impossible to cast everyone. Rehearsals: Rehearsals will begin slowly. In April there will be individually scheduled music rehearsals with our music director. She will schedule time with oloists and perhaps with small groups. During April we'll be asking performers to travel to Ashley in the Burlington area. We plan to begin regular weekly rehearsals in May. Unlike other shows where not everyone is called to all rehearsals, most of these rehearsals will include all performers because most of you are on stage the entire time. We hope to secure a rehearsal space in Waterbury and plan to meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. There will be three rehearsals per week until the last two when you can expect to rehearse most days. We played many venues from Hard Rock Boston to Main Stage at Meadowbrook. We are looking to start something new.
