City of Angels-New SWSydney - 1146374
02-05-12 - New SW / Sydney - CITY OF ANGELS is the rarest of musical comedies; one that is not only loaded with music and written in the
contemporary jazz idiom, but also filled with side-splitting comedy. Set in the glamorous, seductive Hollywood of the
1940's, a world of screen goddesses and shady producers, the show chronicles the misadventures of Stine, a young
novelist. Stine is attempting to write a screenplay for movie producer/director, Buddy Fidler who forces Stine to make
endless compromises to the integrity of his work. The script is a film noir adaptation of one of Stine's novels, which
features a private investigator named Stone. Detectives, murders, femme fatales, and innuendos abound. The film follows
Stone as he investigates the disappearance of the alluring Alaura Kingsleys step-daughter.
This 6 time Tony award winning musical comedy is one of the first true jazz scores to hit the Broadway stage. CITY OF
ANGELS is two shows in one, weaving together the real world and the reel world of 1940s Los Angeles.

Romeo and Juliet-New SW - 1146368
02-04-12 - New SW / Sydney - ROMEO and JULIET AUDITION NOTICE
Throughout the rehearsal process there will be lots of help with the text and with learning the lines - I dont expect anyone to come to this one as a hugely experienced Shakespearian actor. All you need is the willingness to try, to spend a bit of regular time every week learning lines and the expectation of a lot of fun. Staging this play is going to be a great privilege for me - and enormously enjoyable. Yes, youll be learning and speaking Shakespeares original text and that takes some work - but the reward of performing one of the greatest love stories of all time is incredible. -- Project Type: Live Event

Synopsis:
Cabaret is a musical based on book by Joe Masteroff, with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. The 1966 Broadway production became a hit and spawned a 1972 film as well as numerous subsequent productions. Cabaret is based on John Van Drutens 1951 play I Am a Camera, which in turn was adapted from a novel Goodbye to Berlin by Christopher Isherwood. Set in 1931 Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power, it focuses on nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub and revolves around the 19 year-old English cabaret performer Sally Bowles and her relationship with young American writer Cliff Bradshaw. A sub-plot involves the doomed romance between German boarding house owner Fraulein Schneider and her elderly suitor Herr Shultz, a Jewish fruit vendor. Overseeing the action is the Master of Ceremonies at the Kit Kat Klub which serves as a constant metaphor for the tenuous and threatening state of late Weimar Germany throughout the show. -- Project Type: Live Event
